The entertaining movie blog Cinematical reports that it was threatened by Disney because of leaked spoilers about the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean sequels. Some Web site claimed to have copies of the scripts and released details about them. Cinematical linked to the article, and Disney got all pissy. Cinematical removed the post.
To cave into threats so quickly is cowardly and doesn’t make any sense. A threatening e-mail from Disney means nothing and requires no action. Tell Disney to fuck off, and if the company really wants to pursue the issue, it can file a lawsuit.
If Disney does file — which I doubt it would — that would be an excellent time to pull the offending post if one does not have the financial resources to fight it. Neither response to carries a monetary cost, but one shows some spine.
